EA and developer Criterion is reportedly working on a new Need for Speed game that will be exclusive to the current generation of consoles. The output for third-party next-gen only games has been slow due to lengthy development times and the huge demand for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles.
First reported by Grubbsnax (transcribed by VGC), a new Need for Speed title will launch this November. While this hasn’t been confirmed by EA or Criterion, Jeff Grubb has an impressive track record of reporting information before it's officially confirmed.

Need for Speed Current-gen Exclusive
Here's what Grubb had to say on the next instalment of the racing game franchise:
“Need for Speed is still coming this year… that’s true, that game should be coming in November. If you are a Need for Speed fan who has bought a next-gen console, here’s some news; it’s next-gen only. They are shifting to next-gen only.”
If Grubb’s report is correct, there's a high chance of Need for Speed abandoning the previous generation of consoles in favour of the newer hardware. With November a while away, the situation could change as EA and Criterion fasten their seatbelt for a new era of Need for Speed. We’ll have to wait for official confirmation so stay tuned to Gfinity as this story develops.
