Things might be a bit slow on the Switch 2 front, but Nintendo fans have something to look forward to as a Pokémon Presents showcase was announced for next week. Admittedly, these shows are often a mixed bag, usually telling players about mobile games they don’t care much about, but one or two things could be talking points. More importantly, there could be some new information on Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

According to the Japanese Pokémon X account, Pokémon Day is next week, so that means a shiny new presentation to give fans something to look forward to. Naturally, no details on what the event will showcase were revealed, so fans have to go in with hope. Whatever the case, players can check out the showcase on February 27 at 2 PM UTC/GMT, 6 AM PT, and 9 AM ET.

Because this is a Pokémon Presents showcase, fans shouldn’t expect every announcement to be that exciting. Previous showcases discussed TCG tournaments, anime, mobile games, and other collaborations. There’s usually news on one or two Switch games in these shows, so most of us will tune in for that.

Most fans just want to see more news on Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which hasn’t gotten an update since the last Presents showcase. To this day, we only have one trailer for the game and nothing else. Some fans might panic about that, but we’re just happy that the devs at Game Freak don’t seem to be rushing this new RPG after what happened with Scarlet and Violet.

Fans also hope to see news about a potential Switch 2 game in next week’s Pokémon Presents showcase. Nothing like that has been confirmed thus far, but many hope we see next-gen ports of Scarlet and Violet that fix all the issues. At the least, we’d like re-releases of old games to keep us busy.
