Nintendo Switch (NX) Announced!

As the clock struck 3:00pm BST, the world finally received an official glimpse of Nintendo’s upcoming console, the NX, or what is now known as the Nintendo Switch.

After watching the three minute long teaser trailer, here are my initial thoughts and details of the Nintendo Switch, as they happened.

Firstly, the concept of the Nintendo Switch is very much the same as the rumours stated, a hybrid home console and handheld device. Which looks amazing.

The trailer exhibited a roster of games, including, Zelda, Skyrim, Mario, Mario Kart and Splatoon. In addition to this, fans were even presented with a taste of eSports, as Splatoon showcased the world of competitive gaming.

The design of the console itself is also very sleek and unique, with a removable tablet like device slotting into a docking station to form the complete console, to be played on the big screen. The controller also features several removable parts, allowing it to take the form of a Wii remote or a handheld tablet similar to the Wii U.

As well as this, game cartridges also made an appearance within the trailer, alongside a nifty kick stand, a 3.5mm headphone jack and an initial release date; March 2017
