The bow-wielding Overwatch 2 hero Hanzo has been totally removed from the game after a bug allowed him to rapid-fire fully charged arrows, killing most heroes in seconds.
Despite the removal initially being limited to competitive playlists - something the game has done previously with heroes like Bastion - Hanzo has since been totally removed from the game while the bug is being worked on.
Blizzard is reportedly hoping to have the hero back in the game as soon as possible - the game's lead hero designer Alec Dawson was quoted as saying the team was "hoping to have a fix for this out later today, and will be re-enabling him then".
Any players hoping to take advantage of the archer-free state of the game should hop on as soon as they can. Many players have taken to social media to publicly celebrate the removal and enjoy their freedom from his aggravating antics.
Hanzo isn't even in the hero gallery? Oh, this is how overwatch should be.

Seen in a video below, the bug managed to achieve the impossible and make Hanzo even more aggravating than usual - when active, a full-health Roadhog could be vanquished in seconds.
The game recently announced its seventh season with a controversially priced set of cosmetics, so many have joked that Hanzo's removal is the first of many attempts at atonement. We can only hope this is the case and that Tracer will be next.
With Hanzo now out of contention, it's worth checking out our Overwatch 2 tier list to get an idea who is the best hero in the game.
