There’s a lot of excitement surrounding Pokémon Champions right now, with many fans seeing it as the successor to Pokémon Stadium and Colosseum. However, it’s the competitive players who are pumped for this game, as they’re hoping this will be their home for serious PvP battles. Considering the stark difference in single-player and multiplayer battles, this could be a blessing in disguise.

Wolfe “Wolfey” Glick posted a new video about Champions and talked about how the game can change the series forever. Glick feels that each entry in the series has a difficult time adjusting new battle moves since they have to be fun for single-player and viable for competitive play. If Champions becomes the home for competitive players, the devs only have to focus on this game and making sure each move is viable for these tournaments.

Although it’s not official, Wolfey feels that Pokémon Champions is going to be the new home for all of these tournaments the company loves to do. It might not be surprising if all future tourneys happen in this game. Granted, competitive players might have to pick up the new games for new Pokémon, but Champions potentially charging for these creatures might negate that.

Only time will tell if all of this is going to happen once Champions comes out. There still aren’t a lot of details surrounding this title, so the game could end up being lousy for competitive players. We hope that isn’t the case, especially if it leads to a better environment for these gamers, but fans have to be wary.

Pokémon Champions is going to be a big deal when it comes out, as the game is coming to Switch and mobile phones. Although the game’s reveal was big, fans who prefer the franchise for its single-player adventures were more interested in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. That game has a completely different battle system and it will be interesting to see if that stays single-player only.
