The world of The Sims is full of wacky events and unexpected occurrences that can leave players dying with laughter and searching for an explanation.
After all, which other game boasts such a humongous list of confusing glitches and baffling goings-on, recently including the likes of a ghostly hug, a family of Keanu Reeves clones, and a conspiracy-laden phone call from Santa Claus.
Sadly, it seems that yet another terrifying incident has occured in the game, shaking Reddit to the core and prompting players to question how genetics has managed to produce a poor sim that looks a bit like the baddie from Harry Potter.
Have you ever seen a sim that made you question the work of Gregor Mendel?
The thread concerning this unfortunate development in the subreddit r/thesims began with a post from user awkardfrog, who shared an image of a girl with an incredibly small and flat nose, captioning it: “(She’s a) second gen sims child. Both the parents have pretty big noses. Guess genetics are funny.”
The responses from the fellow Simmers seem to suggest that these kinds of quirky reproductive results aren’t exactly uncommon in The Sims 4, with user Uveraeth revealing: “I've never had a nose that flat on a sim, but mine as they go down in generations have no chins,” and chopocky adding: “My very beautiful sim and her okay looking fiancee had three children and they all looked terrible.”
Such issues are so widespread that some users suggested that the entire system responsible for genetics might be in need of a complete rework, with ninjaconor adding: “The annoying thing is they had a perfect genetics system in The Sims 2 that was super realistic but for some reason abandoned it in the sequels.”
Meanwhile, a bunch of other users simply tried to come up with an accurate way to describe the poor child’s nose, with SophronitisLouise joking: “congratulations on your precious pug” and several of their peers making references to Michael Jackson.
On the other hand, users ghostbirdd and _UnreliableNarrator_ teamed up to suggest that the kid could be the result of an affair with a postman resembling Harry Potter villain Voldemort.
Regardless of which nasally-challenged figures from pop culture you think the child resembles, make sure to follow us for more Sims updates as a range of new content arrives for you to pick up.
