Modders have put a lot of effort into making sure both Skyrim and Cyberpunk 2077 have improved and evolved since their releases, even putting out a few works which act as crossovers between the two games.
No matter whether you can’t stop questing in Tamriel, are incredibly hyped up to hang out with Idris Elba in the Phantom Liberty expansion, or love both RPGs equally, you’ll no doubt be glad to hear that some fresh Christmas cheer is arriving in them via mods.
While Skyrim alone can boast giving you the ability to bake festive treats, if your primary concern is decorating your surroundings with yuletide-themed accoutrements, a couple of new mods might be worth adding to your gift list.
Festive decor has arrived in futuristic cities and the villages of medieval fantasy
The first of these mods is for Cyberpunk, is called ‘Christmas time’, and is the work of modder Krat0es. A lot of their previous work has focused on enhancing locations throughout Night City, having added new explorable areas to some megabuildings and made certain places look more like they do in the Edgerunners anime.
This time, they’ve decided to ship some Christmas trees, made by fellow modders bnbc and PinkyDude, to all of the game’s purchasable apartments and a few of its vendors, ensuring that no matter whether V’s petting their cat on the sofa, getting some new cyberware installed or even visiting the firing range, they’ll be inspired by the spirit of crimbo.
If your aim is to instil the same spirit in Skyrim’s Dragonborn, it might be worth taking a look at a second mod, TeknikahMods’ ‘Holidays Happy Little Trees Patch’.
This mod ensures that the colourful lanterns added to the game by isoku’s uber-popular ‘Holidays’, which adds an array of lore-friendly celebrations to Skyrim’s calendar, will hang properly in the updated foliage provided by T4gtr34um3r’s ‘Happy Little Trees’.
Though these lights will have been hung to celebrate in-game holidays like Saturalia and the New Life Festival, they’ll certainly make things look pretty Christmassy.
Regardless of whether you’re now using your cyber-hoover to pick up a mess of discarded sprigs or enjoying a festive feast at The Bannered Mare, make sure to follow us for more updates on the interesting worlds of Cyberpunk 2077 and Skyrim modding.
