Modders have put an awful lot of effort into making sure Skyrim has continually evolved and expanded in the years since it was first released into the world.

Many have focused on changing the game by adding new questlines, redesigned mechanics, and plenty of cheese wheels to it, with a few even going as far as gifting Vampire Lords a plethora of new powers or adding an Oblivion-style arena to Falkreath.

If you’re someone who’s always trying to find interesting places for your Dragonborn to explore and search for valuable loot, a new mod might be worth taking a look at.

Feel like grabbing a torch and diving into this freshly discovered dungeon next time you fire up Skyrim?

The mod in question is called ‘Ljungvunde’, and is the work of modder Kasala123, who’s a level designer for the Cyrodiil-focused arm of the Beyond Skyrim project. Some of their previous solo creations have added graveyards to locations like Dawnstar and made Septimus Signus’ digs a bit comfier.

This time, they’ve decided to add an extra dungeon to the map, which, as a result of the fact it’s just been unearthed after an unknown length of time spent hidden away underneath a wolf den, boasts an air of mystery that’s bound to attract the hardened adventurers who’ve already battled their way through the rest of the province’s abandoned tombs and cities.

Located within the wilds of Falkreath hold, Ljungvunde is a rather huge Nordic ruin that Kasala123 suggests will take you a fairly lengthy delving session to work your way through and will also provide a significant challenge to even the most battle-tested of builds, due to its enemies scaling between levels 45 and 65.

As a result of these factors, they recommend staying away from the location early on in a playthrough, possibly until you’re sent to explore it as part of a radiant quest, and bringing along a follower to help you defeat the fearsome final boss that awaits you at the end.

That said, make sure you keep an eye on them when making the initial drop into the ruin, as their AI might struggle to stick the landing, though they should catch up to you later on.
