Skyrim mod gives you a new gacha-style login gift every time you fire up the game

Modders have put an awful lot of effort into making sure Skyrim has continually evolved and expanded in the years since it was first released into the world.

Many have focused on changing the game by overhauling iconic quests, revamping menus, and adding interesting player homes to it, with a few even going as far as re-creating areas from previous Elder Scrolls games or giving players the ability to run around Tamriel as Batman.

For those who love mods that aren’t quite so massive, but can still improve the experience of playing Bethesda’s RPG, a new mod, which strives to greet you with a gift every time you load in, might be worth adding to your load order.

Fancy receiving a little reward whenever you return to Tamriel?

The mod in question is called ‘Login Bonus’, and is the work of modder sinzzzz. Some of their previous work has made it possible to become addicted to potions and allowed the Dragonborn to treat their fellow inn patrons to some free mead.

This time, they’ve decided to provide their fellow players with some extra motivation to keep working on their latest playthroughs, by setting up a gacha-style system that rewards you with a small gift each time you load up the game.

Toggled on and off by interacting with a book you’ll find resting on the altar of Whiterun’s Hall of the Dead, these prezzies can be anything from food and drink to valuable potions and gemstones, with random selection ensuring you shouldn’t end up getting the same thing too many times in a row.

Plus, according to the mod’s description, every 30 log-ins you’ll receive a slightly unique reward in the form of a special potion that’ll provide you with some perk points to help grow your character.

While these special elixirs can also show up as regular bonus items if you’ve got luck on your side, being guaranteed one at the interval specified above means that even those without a rabbit’s foot in their inventory have something to look forward to.

Naturally, those who desire their mods to be lore-friendly might not be the biggest fans of this one, but if you can rationalise the boons appearing in your inventory as blessings from an Aedric or Daedric guardian, your immersion might not be too badly affected.
