Modders have put an awful lot of effort into making sure Skyrim has continually evolved and expanded in the years since it was first released into the world.
Many have focused on changing the game by adding massive dungeons, cosy player homes and handy new features to it, with a few even going as far as filling the Forgotten Vale with Elven zombies or providing Starfield fans with some flashy cosmic spells.
If you’re a player who likes to keep things fresh by finding interesting overhauls of quests you’ve played through hundreds of times and aren’t averse to silly hijinks, a new mod might be worth taking a look at.
Feel like making one of Skyrim’s most famous Daedric quests a little more surreal?
The mod in question is called ‘Breakfast of Dawn’, and is the work of modder DexModsOfficial. Some of their previous projects have given the Dragonborn a cool magical cabin to chill out in and given them the chance to grow some sweetrolls.
This time, they’ve decided to cater to those who want Meridia’s quest, dubbed ‘The Break of Dawn’, to feel a bit different next time they play it, but also don’t think simply re-voicing the Lady of Infinite Energies is enough of a change to truly spice things up.
So, as you can see in the preview clip above, they’ve decided to transform the mission into one based around tasty treats, replacing the prince’s infamous beacon with a slice of bacon and re-christening the quest ‘The Breakfast of Dawn’.
As you play through the re-jigged adventure, you’ll notice that an array of things, including Meridia’s voice and the objectives she directs you to complete, have been edited to fit with its newly meat-based nature.
Plus, DexModsOfficial’s tweaks are compatible with a bunch of existing mods that change things about Meridia and her quest, including AndrealphusVIII’s ‘No Hand Touches The Beacon’, though any works that replace the Daedric prince’s voice will seemingly cause issues.
