Modders have put an awful lot of effort into making sure Skyrim has continually evolved and expanded in the years since it was first released into the world.
Many have focused on changing the game by finding interesting ways to improve its combat or adding everything from fully voice-acted quests to unique player homes and terrifying zombies to it, with a few even going as far as re-creating weapons from other Elder Scrolls games or creating their own meme-worthy armaments.
If you’re someone who loves massive modding projects like Skyblivion and have spent far too much time in Skyrim’s character creator, a competition currently being hosted by the crew behind Skywind might be worth taking a look at.
Fancy the chance to have a character of your own design included in this massive modding project?
This contest, which will see one lucky winner have their painstakingly designed Argonian added to the worldspace of Skywind’s recreation of Morrowind’s Vvardenfell, seemingly as the model for a mystery character from the original game.
In order to get involved, you’ll first need to disable any mods you might be running, fire up Skyrim and create whatever kind of Argonian you’ve got in mind via the character creation menu in Helgen.
From this point, you’ll want to make sure you follow the instructions included with the tweet above or this Reddit post in order to ensure you take screenshots of your creation and find the save file associated with it that you’ll need to include in this entry form.
Once that’s done, you can also join the mod’s Discord, where community voting on the submissions will be taking place from March 18 onwards, before the winner, who’ll apparently take home a special plaque, and runners-up are announced on April 1.
If you’ve got questions you need answering prior to spending 60 hours painstakingly tweaking the shade of your character’s scales, you’re likely best off asking them in the aforementioned Discord server or in the replies to the social posts about the competition.
Regardless of whether you’re now putting the finishing touches on the coolest-looking Argonian ever to grace Tamriel, make sure to follow us for more updates on The Elder Scrolls 6 and the interesting world of Skyrim modding.
