Modders have put an awful lot of effort into making sure Skyrim has continually evolved and expanded in the years since it was first released into the world.

Many have focused on changing the game by adding massive dungeons, cosy player homes and handy new features to it, with a few even going as far as replacing Meridia’s beacon with some bacon or providing Starfield fans with some flashy cosmic spells.

If you’re a player who likes to make Skyrim’s vistas and environments look as attractive as possible, a new mod, which does the same to the male citizens of Whiterun, might be worth taking a look at.

Feel like the blokes of Skyrim’s central city don’t dedicate enough time to looking their best?

The mod in question is called ‘Sons of Nirn - Whiterun’, and is the work of modder Lilson. Some of their previous projects have given Serana’s vampiric family and most of the province's children makeovers.

This time, with help from an array of existing appearance mods, they’ve decided to beautify 42 of the men residing in Whiterun, drastically re-sculpting visages and rearranging hairstyles in a manner fit for the catwalk or the battlefield.

Of the NPCs covered, those on the former side of the coin include the infamous Nazeem, who’s now rocking some luscious locks and a pair of earrings big enough to be seen from the other side of the Cloud District, the bard Mikael and the pair of Farkas and Vilkas, all of whom look like they could fit into any boy band lineup.

Meanwhile, the likes of Jarl Balgruuf, Kodlak Whitemane and Vignar Grey-Mane have all been given massive, bushy beards befitting of gruff Nordic warriors, helping to offset the slight increase in visible chins among their brethren.

That said, Lilson’s done a great job of populating the town with plenty of intense moustaches, with NPCs like Skjor, who now resembles The Witcher 3’s Olgierd Von Everec, Ulfberth War-Bear and Belethor all seemingly having taken fashion tips from Dr Disrespect.

While their efforts are limited to Whiterun for now, Lilson has ambitious plans to create similar overhauls for all of the province’s major cities, before eventually merging everything together to create a one-stop shop for those who crave overhauled dudes.
