Since Skyrim’s release in 2011, the game has enjoyed an incredibly lengthy and storied run, with Bethesda’s RPG having arrived on almost every platform under the sun and having been enjoyed by millions of players.

Many of these players have gone so far as to add their own items and mechanics, such as destructible furniture to dynamically-learning NPCs and even a horde of fresh or revamped locations to the game, ensuring that it’s evolved and improved as the years have flown by.

Now, to celebrate Skyrim hitting its eleventh birthday, one modder has seemingly decided to bring one of the game’s many humorous classic mods to its Special Edition, ensuring that newer players can give it a go.

How are you celebrating Skyrim’s eleventh anniversary?

The mod in question is called ‘Winnie the Pooh By Dreivor’, and is the work of modder dreivor. Their previous work has brought the intergalactic costumes of Star Trek to Fallout 4 and given its desktop icon a rather intense makeover.

This time, they look to have taken inspiration from chipperkarma4’s ‘Winnie the pooh mod’ for OG Skyrim, which has featured in many heavily modded Youtube playthroughs of the game over the years.

As such, this new mod brings all of the notoriously janky glory of fighting bears hastily decorated to look like beloved cartoon characters to Skyrim’s Special Edition, with dreivor having gone so far in their commitment to the bit that they’ve accidentally identified the occasion as the game’s 10th birthday.

That said, at least they’ve provided a semi-lore-friendly reason for the bears’ transformation, blaming a “rogue mage” for casting a spell on them, which, given the kind of interesting hijinks magic-wielding Skyrim players can get up to, doesn’t seem too far-fetched.

If you’re not in the mood for downloading such tomfoolery, you could head on over to the Skyrim subreddit instead, where players have been sharing their thoughts on the occasion in a thread.

For instance, user thicc-yicc declared: “(It’s) time for another re-release.”, while VillageIdiot51 joined a number of others in revealing that they’d be using the anniversary as an excuse to start yet another playthrough.
