Those who love Skyrim have done a pretty miraculous job of finding ways to continually evolve, expand and reinvigorate their playthroughs in the years since the game was first released into the world.
Many on PC have done so by downloading mods, which can change the Bethesda RPG by adding the likes of Elden Ring-style headwear, multiplayer functionality, and tougher bandits to it, with a few even going as far as completely rejuvenating the unique abilities offered to each of Tamriel’s races or replacing Meridia’s beacon with some bacon.
Though, you don’t necessarily need to rely on access to this massive ocean of community-produced add-ons to find new ways to have fun in Skyrim, as a streamer has recently been proving thanks to some bizarre viewer-submitted quests.
Have you ever joined the Dark Brotherhood just to improve Skyrim’s adoption options?
The Twitch and YouTube personality in question, Joov, has already tastefully redecorated the Dark Brotherhood’s abandoned shack and tried to personally deliver a fresh sweetroll to Paarthurnax at his audience’s behest.
Undaunted by a frustrating failure in his attempt to sate the appetite of the dragon at the Throat of the World, the streamer dove straight into his latest quest after skulking back down the seven thousand steps.
Dubbed ‘A Child in Need’, this mission tasked Joov with killing the parents of every child in the game that can become adoptable by the player once this happens, then buying a suitable house and adopting two of them to live in it. Given that the game boasts 14 such youngsters, this was no small undertaking.
Having decided on the Creation Club’s Myrwatch tower, located in the beautiful swamps of Hjaalmarch, as his home of choice and successfully relocated three of the fourteen children to Riften’s orphanage at the end of the Paarthurnax stream, despite accidentally smacking one of them with a crossbow at one point, Joov took on the rest of the list during his latest broadcast.
Using a variety of different means and plenty of stealth, the streamer gradually travelled across the province slaying poor parents and sending their offspring off the Honorhall, until he’d completed the full list, at which point he returned to the orphanage.
During the final step, adopting two of them, Joov chose to go with Braith, whom he identified as having the potential to become Batwoman, and Knud, who was just his favourite.
It seems there’s no rest for the wicked either, as, having completed this quest, it seems Joov will soon be taking on the daunting task of reviewing every jail the Dragonborn can be thrown in.
