For those who’ve invested thousands of hours into the likes of Skyrim and Fallout 4, the release of Starfield, which is now pencilled in for September 6, can’t come soon enough.
Regardless of how many interstellar mods you plan to install once it arrives, which hairstyle you plan on giving your character (only to have it ruined by the lack of gravity), or the amount of cash you’ve already begun to save up in anticipation of it getting some killer DLC, the idea of being able to delve into the game soon has RPG lovers of all stripes hyped up.
That said, it seems some of those looking forward to the showcase of Bethesda's venture into space that’s set to take place on June 11 are just as hyped up about Todd Howard’s potential fashion choices as they are about seeing more of the game.
What do you think Todd Howard will be wearing at the Starfield Direct that’s taking place later this week?
These style-conscious spacers have recently been discussing the Bethesda Game Studios Director and Executive Producer’s apparel in a thread on the subreddit r/starfield, which fittingly-named user ToddGodGarlicPotato kicked off by asking: “Which fabulous leather jacket will Todd be wearing [at the Starfield Direct]?”
They then furnished their fellow fashionistas with six potential options to choose from in terms of the variations of his trademark leather jacket that Howard could opt to rock, all of which were teamed with ideas for the Bethesda RPG-inspired stat boosts each clothing choice could bequeath to him.
Of these options, which are labelled A to F, the one that the majority of the players in the thread currently seem to be backing is a simple brown leather jacket, a classic Todd look that, as ToddGodGarlicPotato pointed out in the post, the developer rocked during last year’s Starfield gameplay reveal.
Having argued in their response that this clothing choice means that “with his starting charisma already high plus the jacket’s bonus [to that stat], he can say literally anything and we will inject it into our very souls,” user scoutthespiritOG argued that if Howard also opts to bring back the matching shoes he wore at the reveal, it could be evidence he plans to unleash a “another mic drop moment” on fans.
Meanwhile, a couple of users went for the controversial option F, which called for Todd to appear sans any kind of leather jacket, with GwynbleiddSilver saying: “I think he will be wearing something [that] reflects the game.”
Regardless of what you think Todd will be wearing at the showcase, which ToddGodGarlicPotato sarcastically describes as “the single issue that will make or break the future of Xbox,” make sure to follow us for lots of guides to Starfield’s world and mechanics.
