For those who’ve invested thousands of hours into the likes of Skyrim and Fallout 4, the release of Starfield, which is now pencilled in for September 6, can’t come soon enough.
Regardless of what you want to see from the next showcase of Bethesda's venture into space, or how many interstellar mods you plan to install once it arrives, the idea of being able to delve into a freshly curated game has RPG lovers of all stripes intrigued.
Currently, a few of the fans who’ve spent the last few months speculating and worrying about the seemingly sex-free game are putting together a wish list of real-world items they’d like to be able to find as Easter eggs hidden throughout the cosmos.
What kind of hidden rewards do you want your exploration in Starfield to yield?
Their cravings to collect mundane matter form the subject of a recent thread on the Starfield subreddit, which began with a post from user ChromaticDilation, who kicked things off by suggesting that one of the goals of the Constellation faction could be to find old artefacts from Earth, adding: “(I) can’t wait for this to turn into a massive Easter egg hunt.”
A number of their fellow would-be astronauts shared their stated desire to scour the solar system for ancient knick-knacks, with user nagidon coming up with the scenario of seeing the Soviet flag among some moon dust and dart1234554 musing: “(I) can't wait to find a Tesla floating in space!”
Others suggested they’d prefer these collectables to be linked to existing Bethesda titles, with user Coast_watcher, saying: “Vault-Tec bobbleheads anyone? (They could also) throw in a Wabbajack or two.” and EatForPinkFood27 declaring: “(I) can't wait to collect all of the Skyrim releases.”
Meanwhile, user xChris777 proposed that these collectables could do with a specially-designed storage space, saying: “I think a sick feature or mod would be a Legacy of the Dragonborn-esque museum or museum-inspired shelving unit you can get for your base that lets you display all of these rare old world/Earth artefacts and stuff.”
