For those who’ve invested thousands of hours into the likes of Skyrim and Fallout 4, the release of Starfield can’t come soon enough.
Regardless of what you want to see from the next showcase of Bethesda's venture into space or how many interstellar mods you plan to install once it, the idea of being able to delve into a freshly curated game filled with new quests, characters, and locations has RPG lovers of all stripes intrigued.
That said, it seems some of these would-be spacers are getting a little frustrated by the lack of fresh info about the game being offered right now, with one fan having come up with an interesting idea to try and get the creative juices of these prospective planet probers flowing in the interim.
Are you planning on picking up a pencil and submitting your Starfield ship design?
Their artistic approach to solving the boredom of Starfield stans is the subject of a recent thread on the Starfield subreddit, which began with a post from user CatPotatey, who declared: “Since there isn't much Starfield stuff going on right now, I thought it would be neat to have a drawing contest!”
They then outlined the format of this proposed competition, saying: “Those who participate need to draw a spaceship. It must be Starfield themed, but the rest is up to your imagination. These can be drawn digitally, painted, or drawn on paper.” and establishing some ground rules forbidding the likes of plagiarism and AI-generated art.
Any entries into the contest are to be submitted by the 23 March via posts entitled ‘Starfield Drawing Contest March 2023’ on the subreddit r/starfieldbuilders, which CatPotatey has set up relatively recently in the hopes of creating a community hub for discussing the array of ship and settlement builds that’ll arrive once the game is released.
The lucky winner will seemingly “receive a unique user flair on r/starfieldbuilders”, as well as having their art featured in the subreddit’s banner image.
A number of their fellow cosmonauts dug the idea of the contest, with some declaring their excitement and others who don’t consider themselves gifted artists suggesting they’d at least be interested in checking out the submissions.
