Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is going to be a live-service game whether fans like it or not, so DLC characters will play a huge part. Leakers recently confirmed that Killer Croc would be one of the early characters joining the game and now they’ve revealed another fan-favorite: Deathstroke.

On Twitter, leaker Miller Ross confirmed that Deathstroke would be added to the DC live-service title as DLC, though details on the character weren’t given. Naturally, fans should take the leak with a grain of salt, but Deathstroke is a character who is often associated with the group and DC in general.

Continuity-wise, it also makes sense to bring in Deathstroke for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, since the character has appeared in the Arkham games before. Deathstroke was one of the first bosses players fought in Batman: Arkham Origins and he resurfaces in Arkham Knight as a disappointing cameo.

Deathstroke gets an offer to join Task Force X, the other name for DC’s Suicide Squad, in Arkham Origins. Unfortunately, this loose plot thread was never followed up on in the Arkham games, but Kill the Justice League can finally do that.

Most DC fans have taken a liking to Deathstroke, thanks to his great design and cool weapons. Deathstroke was also the major inspiration for Deadpool, whose real name, Wade Wilson, is a play on Deathstroke’s real name, Slade Wilson. The character has also appeared in a ton of DC media, including the live-action series Titans and the post-credits scene of Justice League.

At the time of writing, most people are down on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and adding a fan-favorite villain like Deathstroke won’t change that. While the recent gameplay videos have been a bit better, the focus on live-service elements still has many weary over the open-world title.
