Now that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League spoilers are running rampant, fans have been pretty disappointed with the way this game handles Batman. These fans are so disappointed that they’ve started praising Gotham Knights, as it’s a lot more respectful about the Caped Crusader’s legacy.
It seems that fans who’ve purchased the Deluxe Edition have gone and posted a ton of story spoilers, as they’re everywhere on social media. With the way this game treats Batman, fans realized how Gotham Knights should have been the next Arkhamverse installment instead of Kill the Justice League.
We should wait for official reviews for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League hit, before we compare the two DC video games. That being said, fans do have a point here, as it feels like Gotham Knights could have been a fitting sequel to Arkham Knight.
For those unfamiliar, Gotham Knights starts with the death of Batman, though it happens after a pretty bloody duel with Rhas Al Gul. After the Dark Knight’s death, Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin band together to protect Gotham City, while also taking on the mysterious Court of Owls.
Since Gotham Knights is a much more positive and celebratory game, we can see why DC fans are reacting this way. However, fans should wait until they play Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League before jumping to conclusions, as insiders have said the post-game and future seasons continue the story.
Even if fans are overreacting to the news, fans are wondering why this game has to be a part of the Arkhamverse. Many agree that Batman: Arkham Knight was a solid enough end for that version of the character, so dragging him back here feels greedy. Granted, this game is about the Suicide Squad, but we feel fans wouldn’t be this pissed if it were a standalone universe.
