Tekken 8 is one of next year’s most anticipated fighting games and fans can’t wait to start chaining combos together as their favorite character. It turns out players won’t have to wait too long, as a demo is coming to PS5 this week, with the Xbox Series and PC version coming the following week.
PS5 owners will be getting the demo on December 14, while Xbox Series and PC players get it next week. Gamers will be able to try the first chapter of this installment’s story mode and take part in the brand-new Arcade Quest, as revealed by the website. The demo will also have Versus Mode with up to four characters and Super Ghost Battle, which only unlocks after playing Arcade Quest.
Arcade Quest is a brand-new mode for the series and is an interesting one. Rather than featuring the never-ending storyline regarding the Mishima family, Arcade Quest takes place in the real world where the player’s created avatar, well, plays Tekken with other players. It’s a more grounded experience when compared to all of the Mishima stuff, though we’re sure some weirdness will take place.
Four playable characters will be a part of the Tekken 8 demo: Jin, Kazuya, Paul, and Nina. All four characters are fan favorites, so that should be enough for older fans to give this demo a shot. Their mechanics might change up a bit in the final release, but fans can at least get a good grip on them in this demo.
This is a pretty packed demo, and it comes at a decent 28 GB, which sounds like a lot until you realize the main game is 100 GB. While this is just a preview for things to come, fans should have a good time with the characters included and try out the new modes.
