This is definitely not Elden Ring, nor is it Bloodborne 2—it’s The Duskbloods, the latest PvPvE multiplayer game by FromSoftware. And it’s coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 as a console exclusive…for now.

Hidetaka Miyazaki, the game director behind award-winning titles like Dark Souls, Elden Ring, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, returns as The Duskbloods’ game director, promising players a fresh yet familiar take on the Soulslike experience.

As expected from a FromSoftware trailer, the reveal offered little in terms of story details. However, The Duskbloods is an 8-player online multiplayer game far from FromSoftware's single-player formula. Players assume the role of a 'Bloodsworn' and vie for supremacy in the game's massive world, as well as dealing with powerful foes.

No one knows if this shares the same features as Elden Ring: Nightreign, which leaned heavily into multiplayer and strayed from FromSoftware's roots, but it's giving a 'Battle Royale' sort of vibe with its stiff competition as a premise.

The trailer showcased otherworldly concepts and monstrous designs, hallmarks of FromSoftware’s signature style. What truly caught players’ attention, though, was the game’s Victorian-inspired setting. While Bloodborne thrived on its Gothic themes, The Duskbloods appears to embrace a steampunk aesthetic reminiscent of Lies of P.

Fans also noticed familiar assets from previous FromSoftware titles like Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon and Elden Ring, raising concerns about potential asset reuse—an issue that had some players wary after Elden Ring: Nightreign’s reveal.

Notably, this marks the first FromSoftware title without Bandai Namco as its publisher, with Nintendo taking the reins instead, making The Duskbloods a Switch 2 exclusive.

There’s no official release date yet, but the game is expected to launch sometime in 2026.
