News around the gaming industry can come from a plethora of sources, the least likely of these is LinkedIn. Nonetheless, a job description on a Naughty Dog employee's profile may have tipped us all off that The Last of Us 2 is getting a makeover and relaunch.
In a tough week for the game-developing giant, which included a layoff of over 20 contractors and rumours that the Factions-inspired spin-off of The Last of Us is on ice, this may come as good news for fans of the franchise. While it is a remaster, many of us can't get enough of the series and will relish the opportunity to experience the game with even better visuals.
LinkedIn may have leaked the re-release of The Last of Us 2
In a tweet that has amassed over 20.5k views at the time of writing this, X (formerly Twitter) user @IliaAkhavan has reportedly uncovered a minute detail in a LinkedIn profile that implies that we haven't seen the last of The Last of Us 2. The description, which was included in the profile of the Lead Outsource Artist for Naughty Dog, shows that they have done a lot of outsourcing work for "two iconic titles The Last of Us: Part One and The Last Of Us 2: Remastered"
The LinkedIn account, belonging to Naughty Dog's Mark Pajarillo, does not have the same information as shown in the tweet, but there is evidence that it may have been edited out. While there is no mention of TLoU 2, the job description still mentions "two iconic titles", but only lists one.
There has been no announcement from Naughty Dog about the remastering of their hugely popular sequel to The Last of Us, but it wouldn't be far-fetched to believe it's on the way. They had a ton of success from re-releasing and remaking the original title, so the second instalment could very well follow suit.
