The arrival of a new Warzone 2 map is guaranteed to generate plenty of interest among fans dropping into the action on a regular basis. During three seasons of content for Call of Duty’s battle royale, developers have added Ashika Island to the pool alongside Al Mazrah.
With the launch of Season 4 on the horizon, some players have been suggesting Treyarch should remove a core feature to improve ranked play, while others continue to grow tired of overpowered melee damage ruining close-quarters combat.
Now, though, they've been gifted something else to discuss, with the cover art for a song produced by a world-famous DJ having provided them with the first overview of the brand-new Vondel map set in The Netherlands.
Warzone 2 Vondel map overview
Ahead of Season 4, Dutch house DJ Oliver Heldens has showcased an upcoming release known as ‘Sounds of Vondel.’ Fans were quick to notice the artwork for the single's cover features a top-down view of the unreleased map, leaving many wondering if the battleground is arriving sooner rather than later.
One fan believes the Heldens' track is “trailer music for a trailer” that’s expected to arrive shortly before the new season commences on June 14. Although some members of the community aren’t convinced by the leak, all traces of the artwork and the song, which samples Captain Price, have disappeared which suggests Activision has kept it under wraps.
While some players prefer the more dramatic soundtracks associated with Call of Duty and Warzone 2, Activision hiring Oliver Heldens to create a track when a map set in The Netherlands is launching is a smart move that’s sent the community into overdrive.
The world of music is no stranger to the Call of Duty world. Avenged Sevenfold have several songs featured within the Black Ops series while Eminem released a song to promote the launch of 2013’s Call of Duty: Ghosts.
