Warzone players are growing tired of an airstrike bug that's capable of ruining the final stages of a match.
Although a lot of attention is on the launch of Modern Warfare 3, Warzone fans are still dropping into Call of Duty's battle royale as Season 6 continues to progress.
Players are no strangers to game-breaking bugs and glitches negatively impacting their gameplay experience. During the Verdansk era, a bug allowed one player to respawn during the victory cutscene. During the final weeks of Al Mazrah, a bug involving the Precision Airstrike killstreak is catching even the most experienced players off-guard.
During the last circle of an Ashika Island match, user Awalto990 took to Reddit revealing how the lack of an airstrike notification stopped them from securing victory.
The player says: "Love it when airstrikes go off without warning in the final circle. Fix this please!" Based on the comments, the lack of airstrike notification isn't an isolated issue. Another adds: "I can't stand how often I die to airstrikes without notifications, inside buildings, or even sometimes I'll get a notification and I'll sprint away from it and it still gets me."
Typically, when an airstrike is called into the nearby area, red text confirming a strike is inbound should appear across the top of the screen. However, the bug fails to alert anyone to the threat from the skies.
It's unclear if the Warzone airstrike bug will receive a fix as the opportunities to apply fixes are growing few and far between. The first season of the Modern Warfare 3 cycle will introduce the Urzikstan map in addition to the return of the slide cancel mechanic in a bid to increase the pace of play.
We'll have to wait until then to see if all players receive a notification alerting them of an incoming airstrike that sends them on an early trip to the gulag or prevents them from climbing aboard the victory chopper.
