With many long-term lovers of The Witcher 3 deciding to return to the game in order to check out last month’s next-gen update, the streets of The Continent are bustling with more life than they’ve seen in a good while.

Those jumping back into the body of the white wolf on PC might have noticed that a lot of uber-popular mods are starting to receive the necessary updates to work with the newest version of the game.

In addition to updating these must-have mods, modders have also been hard at work creating original works, many of which have been based around the fresh content added by the update, such as its armours, medallions and ray-traced environments. Though, if you’re simply looking to experience maximum revelry during your next trip to Skellige, a new mod might be more up your alley.

Do you sometimes wish you could give up monster slaying in favour of starting your own brewery?

The mod in question is called ‘DLC - Alcohol Factory of Geralt - Next-Gen Compatible’ and is the work of modder FreakVIp, whose previous work has given you the chance to grab more rewards from the Hearts of Stone DLC and some extra Gwent cards from merchants you defeat.

This time, they’ve decided to have a go at turning the abandoned distillery you’ll visit during the quest ‘Practicum in Advanced Alchemy’ into a fully-functional brewing site Geralt can use to create a range of alcoholic beverages.

Once you’ve headed to Skellige and completed the aforementioned quest, you’ll receive a new tutorial quest called ‘Let’s run a alcohol factory’, which should help guide you through making your first drink using a craftable mash and some newly added ingredients you can buy from inns and bars.

During that same shopping trip, you can also head to stores that sell books in order to seek out tomes that serve as recipes for various beers and wines, giving you more combinations to experiment with.

According to FreakVIp, there are some interesting easter eggs and surprises to be found as you expand your repertoire, giving the white wolf some motivation beyond a desire not to show up empty-handed when he returns to Kaer Morhen for the winter.
