Wuthering Waves has come a long way since its release last May. Kuro Games has already released two games, one of which is Punishing: Gray Raven. However, WuWa would be their first action roleplaying game that showcases an open world, potential competition to the well-known Genshin Impact from miHoYo.
Wuthering Waves continues expanding its story and the lands players can explore. The upcoming 2.2 update, "Tangled Truth in Inverted Tower," which will be released on March 27, introduces a new character and region among new content.
The new region in Wuthering Waves is named "Avinoleum," once a theological seminary of Rinascita. The place once recorded Rinascita's glory and grandeur and held onto many of its secrets. Based on the preview shown, the region looks elegant with its exquisite exterior. It seemingly looks brighter compared to most of Wuthering Waves' previous locations.
The new locations within the region also look heavenly. There are five in total: Inverted Seminary, Tower of Salvation, Path of Bestowal, Zargon Garden, and Holy Spire of Confluence. It is highly likely that players will go to these locations by following the continuation of the main story.
click to enlargeNew gameplay features have also been introduced in Wuthering Waves' version 2.2 along with Avinoleum. Gravity Calibrators, a special apparatus that allows players to change the direction of gravity, are scattered around Avinoleum. There's also Ace Wings, which let players fly to chase and capture light sparks along the Wind Trail.
The update also showcases Flash Dodge, which is shown to be a top-down mini-game. You must dodge the lightning strikes (marked by red circles) within the time limit and survive. Players can also participate in Boat Racing, where you will ride a Gondola, follow the light sparks (circles that give a speed boost), and reach the final destination to get rewards.
The last new gameplay feature is the Cloud Platformer (possibly one that players who aren't good at platforming dread). Players will be playing a side-scrolling mini-game. You'll see elements that can help you reach the end of the level.
There are many things to look forward to in Wuthering Waves' version 2.2 update, especially Cantarella. Players will also be able to play the game on Steam once it releases in April.
