The Switch 2 is a huge upgrade from Nintendo’s first hybrid console, offering a ton of power and plenty of games. With massive titles like Final Fantasy VII Remake coming to the system, it will take a while before Nintendo's hardware becomes obsolete. Naturally, because of the console’s power, fans are trying out the Switch’s worst ports on it, including WWE 2K18.

Considered by many to be the worst port on Switch, WWE 2K18 could barely run on the first Switch. It was a poorly optimized mess from 2K Games, with downgraded visuals and a ton of slowdown on multi-man matches. While 2K is planning to bring newer WWE games to Switch 2, fans want to see if the publisher’s worst port is now playable.

Does WWE 2K18 Run Better on the Switch 2?

Yes. While this is still a downgraded version of the pro wrestling simulator, it can finally run regular and multi-man matches well.

A video from MGD Plus shows that the game runs a lot better on the Switch 2, even if it’s still the worst version of this entry. Character models are clearly downgraded, and entrances don’t always sync with the music, but the matches are finally playable. Just seeing a multi-man match without performance issues is genuinely shocking to us.

Will Future WWE Games Run Well on Switch 2?

Because the Switch 2 is much more powerful than the original, it should be a yes. This new system is on par with a Steam Deck, if not stronger, and recent WWE 2K games ran well on Valve’s handheld.

WWE 2K18

If anything, it will be good to have WWE 2K18 on Switch 2 as a relic of this period. This can also act as a reminder of just how bad things were on lesser hardware. We mostly blame 2K Games for their poor optimization, since other powerful games were able to run well on the Switch. At least with this new system, we can finally expect quality wrestling games on a Nintendo platform.

That’s everything we know about WWE 2K18’s performance on the Switch 2.
