With the release of Tears of the Kingdom just over a month away, plenty of Legend of Zelda fans are already counting down the days until they can take to the picturesque plains of Hyrule again.

One of the easiest ways, aside from watching the game’s third trailer on a loop or thirsting over images of Ganondorf, to quench your thirst for adventure while you wait is to delve back into one of the series' previous entries, all of which offer plenty of nostalgia-filled hours of questing and exploration for long-time Nintendo fans.

However, if the allure of reliving your childhood isn’t enough of a draw on its own and you don’t fancy an intense full-body workout, you might want to check out a recent unorthodox attempt at completing Breath of the Wild’s Trial of the Sword for some inspiration that could help spice up your return to Hyrule.

Do you think you could beat a Zelda game using your musical talents?

The streamer in question is gv_mimi, who has spent most of the past month taking on the most recent entry in the Zelda series using an ocarina mapped to control all of Link’s movements and actions.

Having successfully blown their way through the game, in their most recent stream, they now decided to take on one of its toughest challenges in the form of the Trial of the Sword challenge mode, with the interesting twist this time being that the entire game world is flipped upside down.

As you can imagine, this change makes the already difficult task of beating the array of beginning, middle, and final trials that make up the mode without dying at an inopportune time and being unceremoniously sent back to the start even more daunting.

While they seemed pretty calm about the challenge before delving into it, it didn’t take long for gv_mimi to end up disoriented and on the run from some enemies while yelling “Why did I do this to myself?!”.

However, they soon began to get comfortable and develop some tactical retreat-based strategies that allowed them to start battering Bokos rather than simply running in fear, almost making it to the conclusion of the first 12 trials before calling it a day.

Though gv_mimi admitted at the end of the stream: “I was screaming most of the way.”, if the determination shown in the ocarina run is anything to go by, odds are they’ll reach the end of the trials at some point.
