Since Tears of the Kingdom arrived last month, Legend of Zelda fans have spent an incredible amount of energy relentlessly exploring the picturesque plains of Hyrule and enjoying what they have to offer.
While some players have dedicated their time to scything through quests, objectives and challenges, many seem to have been drawn in by the allure of building and sharing interesting contraptions that can unleash waves of destruction, help solve platforming puzzles, or make it easier to get around.
Even though they’re far from exhausting all of the possibilities offered by both of these approaches, it seems that some of the hardcore Hylians on Reddit are already looking forward to the potential additions that could come to the game in the future, having started to discuss their hopes for its DLC.
What are you hoping for from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s DLC?
These expansion-based expectations from members of the community that's created Hylian Segways and killer Beyblades can be found in a recent thread on the subreddit r/tearsofthekingdom, which was kicked off by user Snoo-76854, who asked: “I know the game hasn't been out that long, but [have you got any] any hopes/wishes for [its] DLC?”
The response from their fellow adventures definitely seems to suggest people have already been doing plenty of thinking about how they want the game to evolve going forwards, with user NES_Classical_Music, for example, pointing out: “[There’s] plenty of space for some [new] cool Sky Islands above Lookout Landing. That [space] is empty.”
Similarly, user vincentdmartin proposed the addition of “A forest temple and a shadow temple, with Korok and Sheikah sages,” while user rainbownator96 said: “A Hearthfire-style DLC [that always you to] customise/add onto the house you get near Tarrey Town would be nice.”
Others outlined that they’d like any potential DLC to be focused around character-driven story telling, with user YaBoiFish6 declaring: “Bring back Kass!” and wheatleyscience9 musing: “I'd really like the DLC to have a story focused on the identities of Dinraal, Naydra, and Farosh. You can't drop a lore bomb like dragonification and then expect us to not wonder about the three dragons who've been here since Breath of the Wild.”
Meanwhile, user KnittingRN included an array of options in their reply, saying: “[I’d like] more story [although I’m not even finished with the main story yet so can’t complain], something similar to the trial of the sword, because I loved that in Breath of the Wild, more [tough] shrines [like BotW’s DLC shrines], and maybe another dungeon or two. Or just whatever they give us because clearly the dev team knows best.”
