With Tears of the Kingdom now having arrived, most Legend of Zelda fans have spent the majority of the past week and a bit relentlessly exploring the picturesque plains of Hyrule.
Regardless of what you’ve thought of Nintendo’s latest release so far, odds are the array of engaging activities and interesting characters on offer will keep you entertained for a good while.
Though some have been busy cowering from Gloom Hands, lots of players seem to have been dedicating their majority of their time with the game to building and sharing interesting contraptions that can unleash waves of destruction or make exploration easier, with one of the latest being the ultimate combat companion for any Star Wars fan.
Are you keen to bring some Star Wars flavour to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
A clip of this cool creation from the community that's already constructed the likes of Hylian Segways and Korok monster trucks has been posted by its creator, user mishnaree, who seems pretty proud of the energy beam-shooting Star Destroyer that they’ve built to hover above them as they do their best Sith lord impression by slaughtering helpless creatures.
“I used two of the giant floating blocks from the sky island as the base and a couple [of] hover blocks for support,” they explained, adding: “This build is completely inefficient, [it takes 257 Zonaite to spawn] but it looks neat, so yeah.”
User PewPew_McPewster argued that the ship being a bit of a half-baked mess that requires far too much power makes it even more of a fitting tribute to the array of crappy contraptions from a galaxy far, far away, saying: “So [it’s] just like the Death Star and the senate room platforms. I'd say it's thematically appropriate. Major plus points from my end.”
Others simply chose to give a Hyrule makeover to some classic lines from the Star Wars films, such as McPhage’s quip: “From my perspective it is Zelda that is evil!” and Mental-Street6665’s wisecrack: “Link! Why Link?! You were the chosen one! You were supposed to bring balance to the (tri)force, not cast it further into darkness!”
Meanwhile, user JTD783 said: “It’s only a matter of time before someone builds a Death Star in this game.”, to which EVJoe retorted: “I mean there's already a giant sphere suspended in the sky. [We] just need to slap some lasers on that round boy.”
