May 3, 2022: The Genshin Impact 2.7 livestream has officially been delayed. There's no confirmation that the postponement stretches to the update itself, though, so we're still under the impression that it'll launch alongside the usual update schedule.

If you’re looking for the Genshin Impact 2.7 livestream, you’ve got a bit longer to wait – and possibly an extra wait, depending on how the Shanghai lockdown affects Hoyoverse. All things equal, we’ll see the livestream air a few weeks before the 2.7 update itself, with new codes, sneak peeks at upcoming events, and more. And of course, it’ll officially confirm the update’s new characters.

This guide explains how and when to watch the Genshin Impact 2.7 livestream and what to expect from it. The game's tendency to follow a strict six-week schedule means we already know the bigger details, but these livestreams are great for getting some freebies and a closer look at what's to come from the story.

When Is the Genshin Impact 2.7 Livestream?

The Genshin Impact 2.7 livestream is expected to begin at 1pm BST / 5am PT on April 29, 2022.

There's been no official confirmation of that just yet, but it follows a strict pattern set by virtually every other update the game has gotten since its 2020 release.

Generally speaking, the livestream should air about 10 days before the update itself releases. Patch 2.7 should launch around May 10, though Genshin leak account SaveYourPrimos said rumours are beginning to surface that it may be delayed.

The Covid lockdown situation in Shanghai is allegedly hampering work, and while there’s no confirmation that it’s affecting Hoyoverse yet, popular Twitter user SaveYourPrimos reports that discussions about delaying the update by two or three weeks are taking place.

Again, these are unsubstantiated reports at best, but given a date and time have typically been set by now with previous updates, a last-minute postponement could very well surface.

How to Watch the Genshin Impact 2.7 Livestream

As always, Hoyoverse will air a Chinese and an English-language livestream on the official Genshin Impact YouTube and Twitch channels.

What's Going to Be Shown in the Genshin Impact 2.7 Livestream?

We know Hoyoverse will reveal Yelan and Kuki Shinobu, though their debut order and who else will feature on their banners remains uncertain. Some rumours suggest we’ll also see a new robot-building event in the Serenitea Pot, along with some new hangout events and a rerun of the roguelike dungeon event.
