What is the best Genshin Impact Albedo build? On top of being able to conjure up shields without even being on the field, both Albedo's Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst abilities can deal frequent and earth-shattering damage without too much work, boosting his teammates' DPS in the process.
He isn't much to write home about to start with, but with the best Genshin Impact Albedo builds and a team centred around his particular set of skills, you'll have yourself a sub DPS unit that can quickly and efficiently switch in to deal staggering amounts of AoE damage.

How do I get Albedo in Genshin Impact?
Albedo, as a 5-Star character, has a banner - Secretum Secretorum. This will get a rerun in the second half of version 3.1, likely towards the middle of October. We're not sure which 4-Stars will join him yet.
What are the best Albedo builds?
Below are two of the best Albedo builds you can use at the moment. Read on to see the details of these particular Albedo builds, but if you've used him before, you'll likely get the thought process behind our picks for his best weapon and artifacts. Speaking of weapons, we've put together an extensive list of all the Genshin Impact weapons for your perusal.
The best Albedo builds use his DEF stat scaling to increase his damage, relying secondly on building up his Geo DMG, CRIT DMG, and CRIT Rate to ensure his Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst deals the most amount of damage possible with each use.
Of course, which of the two best Albedo builds you choose will depend entirely on how you plan to play the Geo character. He's a versatile choice, after all. We'll go over good party compositions after this, but let's focus on kitting him out first.
Role | Best Weapon | Alternative Weapon | Best Artifacts | Alternative Artifacts |
---|---|---|---|---|
Elemental Skill Sub DPS | Harbinger of Dawn / Festering De | Festering Desire / Traveler's Handy Sword | Archaic Petra (four piece set) | Tenacity of the Millelith (four-piece set) |
Elemental Burst Sub DPS | Skyward Blade | Festering Desire / Harbinger of Dawn | Archaic Petra + Noblesse Oblige | Archaic Petra (two-piece) or Noblesse Oblige (two-piece |
Elemental Skill Sub DPS Build
For the most part, building Albedo around his Elemental Skill will be the better, more accessible approach for the average player. His Elemental Skill comes off cooldown almost as fast as you can switch out and back in.
As it does respectable damage when dropped on or slightly near enemies, it's a good way to increase the character's DPS as opposed to just letting its lingering on-hit effect be its only use.
Elemental Burst Sub DPS Build
By focusing on ways to boost Albedo's easily charged Elemental Burst, you can deal massive amounts of burst damage in a wide area, leaving a large DMG buff behind for other characters to then clean up with. This will obviously climb further after unlocking Albedo's second constellation (at which point it's the go-to build), but even before that, if you happen to have the right items to build him this way, it's not a bad approach.
What are the best Team Comps for Albedo?
Here are our selections of characters to use with Albedo to make use of and compliment his skills. Really, any Geo character would work well in a team with Albedo - especially Zhongli or Noelle.
Character | Element |
---|---|
Diluc, Fischl, Venti | Pyro, Electro, Anemo |
Ningguang, Hu Tao, Venti | Geo, Pyro, Anemo |
Right now, this is one of the best team comps for Albedo at virtually any level. Having Fischl at Constellation six will make a big difference, but the core idea remains the same:
- Use Venti's Elemental Burst to pull a group of enemies together.
- Drop Albedo's Elemental Skill on top of them.
- Use Diluc's Elemental Burst to trigger the Geo AoE damage and infuse Venti's Anemo cyclone with Pyro for Swirl damage.
- Use Fischl to drop Oz on the pack and burst them down with her rapid Normal Attacks.
It's complicated, but each of these characters requires little Energy, and they all have high Energy Recharge thanks to their chaining reactions. It's one of the best team comps for Albedo right now, allowing for virtually non-stop Elemental Burst barrages.
What are the best Weapons for Albedo?
As Albedo doesn't lean much on his Normal Attacks, the weapon he uses is based purely on the stats it provides. Base ATK comes as standard on his top picks, but it's the CRIT DMG, Energy Recharge, or DEF% bonus stat and effects you're looking to put to use with these.
Weapon | Rarity | Stats | Effect | How to Obtain |
---|---|---|---|---|
Cinnabar Spindle | 4-Star | DEF% 15.0% | Elemental Skill DMG is increased by 40% of DEF. The effect will be triggered no more than once every 1.5s and will be cleared 0.1s after the Elemental Skill deals DMG. | Event |
Harbinger of Dawn | 3-star | Base ATK / CRIT DMG | When HP is above 90%, increases CRIT Rate by 14%. | Wishes |
Primordial Jade Cutter | 5-Star | CRIT Rate + 9.6% | HP increased by 20%. Additionally, provides an ATK Bonus based on 1.2% of the wielder’s Max HP. | Wishes |
Favonius Sword | 4-Star | Energy Recharge 61.3% | CRIT Hits have a 60% chance to generate a small amount of Elemental Prticles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. Can only occur once every 12s. | Wishes |
In a rare case for any five-star character in Genshin Impact, Albedo puts the very common three-star weapon Harbinger of Dawn to better use than some gacha swords. Festering Desire from the limited-time Dragonspine event was another great option, given it was available for free at the same time as him.

What are the best Artifacts for Albedo?
Albedo makes a great case for the Geo Artifact sets that looked a little pointless before he was introduced. Thanks to just how frequently he can deal Geo damage through his Elemental Skill and rapidly recharging Elemental Burst, anything you can do to boost this stat will help.
As Albedo is commonly used as a sub-DPS unit, a full Archaic Petra set works well. It boosts his Geo damage for when he sets up his Elemental Skill, then allows other team members to gain a damage bonus as it lingers on the field.
Noblesse Oblige works in a similar manner, only boosting Albedo's powerful Elemental Burst especially, giving his teammates a healthy 20% damage boost in the process.
Best Artifacts | Two-piece Effect | Four-piece Effect |
---|---|---|
Archaic Petra | Gain a 15% Geo damage Bonus. | Upon obtaining an Elemental Shard Created through a Crystallize Reaction, all party members gain a 35% damage Bonus for that particular element for 10 seconds. Only one form of Elemental damage Bonus can be gained in this manner at any one time. |
Noblesse Oblige | Elemental Burst damage +20%. | Using an Elemental Burst increases all party members' Attack by 20% for 12 seconds. This effect cannot stack. |
Tenacity of the Millelith | HP +20% | When an Elemental Skill hits an opponent, the Attack of all nearby party members is increased by 20% and their Shield Strength is increased by 30% for 3 seconds. |
Albedo Artifact Stats
Before you go trying to grind these artifacts, it's best to know which stats to look out for. Leveling up an artifact with less-than-favourable stats is a waste of precious materials and Mora. For Albedo, it's a matter of building up his damage by stacking DEF whenever possible. Once you've found a Geo DMG goblet, just work on stacking DEF, CRIT Rate, and CRIT DMG through various sub stat rolls.
Slot | Main Stat | Sub Stats |
---|---|---|
Feather | ATK | DEF, CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG |
Flower | HP | DEF, CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG |
Hourglass | DEF% or Energy Recharge | DEF, CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG |
Goblet | Geo DMG Bonus | DEF, CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG |
Headpiece | CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG | DEF, CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG |
What are Albedo's Skills and Talents?
Albedo excels as a Geo Sub DPS unit. His Elemental Burst will trigger an Elemental Mastery buff for the entire party, so triggering Elemental Reactions will deliver great results thanks to it, which will be reflected with this setup. The Archaic Petra and Noblesse Oblige sets will be the best options, accompanied by the Skyward Blade.
Attack | Effect |
---|---|
Normal Attack (tap) | Perform up to 5 rapid strikes |
Charged Attack (hold) | Deal two rapid strikes, pushing the target and Albedo away. |
Plunge (hold in air) | Deals area damage. |
Elemental Skill - Abiogenesis: Solar Isotoma | Drops a Geo construct on the target location, which will lift up when a friendly character steps on it. While active, once every two seconds, enemies hit within the area around the construct will take AoE Geo damage based off Albedo's DEF. |
Elemental Burst - Rite of Progeniture: Tectonic Tide | Deals AoE Geo damage in the area in front of Albedo. If used within Abiogenesis: Solar Isotoma, seven Fatal Blossoms will explode, dealing AoE Geo damage to enemies within its area of affect. |
Talent #1 | Transient Blossoms generated by Abiogenesis: Solar Isotoma deal 25% more DMG to opponents whose HP is below 50%. |
Talent #2 | Using Rite of Progeniture: Tectonic Tide increases the Elemental Mastery of nearby party members by 125 for 10s. |
Passive | When Albedo crafts Weapon Ascension Materials, he has a 10% chance to receive double the product. |
What are Albedo's Constellations?
If you're lucky enough to pull Albedo multiple times, you'll quickly unlock the true potential of his powerful Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst. His second Constellation is the true aim in this situation. With it, the damage of Albedo's Elemental Burst will scale rapidly, as enemies are struck within his ever-present Elemental Skill. As his cooldowns are virtually non-existent, it means a near-constant 120% damage boost to an already painful ability.
Constellation | Effect |
---|---|
Flower of Eden | Transient Blossoms generated by Albedo's Abiogenesis: Solar Isotoma regenerate 1.2 Energy for Albedo. |
Opening of Phanerozoic | Albedo gains a stack of Fatal Reckoning for each Transient Blossom generated by Abiogenesis: Solar Isotoma up to a maximum of four times. Each stack increases the damage of the next Rite of Progeniture: Tectonic Tide by 30% of Albedo’s DEF. |
Grace of Helios | Increases the Level of Abiogenesis: Solar Isotoma by 3. |
Descent of Divinity | Active party members within the Solar Isotoma field have their Plunging Attack DMG increased by 30%. |
Tide of Hadean | Increases the Level of Rite of Progeniture: Tectonic Tide by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15. |
Dust of Purification | Active party members within the Solar Isotoma field who are protected by a shield created by Crystallize have their DMG increased by 17%. |
What are Albedo's Ascension Materials?
Ascending Alebdo boosts his HP, ATK, DEF, and Geo DMG. Those last two are incredibly important to Alebdo's damage potential. You'll notice him become vastly more powerful as you raise him through the ranks. And, thankfully, it isn't too hard to do so. Cecilia and Sealed Scrolls aren't commonly used and can be easily gathered. After that, it's just a matter of farming Geo Hypostasis for Basalt Pillars and Prithivia Topaz.
Ascension Rank | Required Level | Required Materials |
---|---|---|
One | 20 | 20,000 Mora, Prithiva Topaz Sliver x1, Cecilia x3, Divining Scroll x3 |
Two | 40 | 40,000 Mora, Prithiva Topaz Fragment x3 Basalt Pillar x2, Cecilia x10, Divining Scroll x15 |
Three | 50 | 60,000 Mora, Prithiva Topaz Fragment x6, Basalt Pillar x4, Cecilia x20, Sealed Scroll x12 |
Four | 60 | 80,000 Mora, Prithiva Topaz Chunk x3, Basalt Pillar x8, Cecilia x30, Sealed Scroll x18 |
Five | 70 | 100,000 Mora, Prithiva Topaz Chunk x6, Basalt Pillar x12, Cecilia x45, Forbidden Curse Scroll x12 |
Six | 80 | 120,000 Mora, Prithiva Topaz Gemstone x6, Basalt Pillar x20, Cecilia x60, Forbidden Curse Scroll x24 |
What are Albedo's Talent Level Up Materials?
Another important part of building Albedo is remembering to level up his talents and abilities. The order in which you go about this will change slightly depending on the role you expect Albedo to play in your team, but here's the most common Albedo talent upgrade order:
- Elemental Skill
- Elemental Burst
- Basic Attack
Here are the materials you'll need to max out his talents:
Daily Drops | Enemy Drops | Weekly Drops |
---|---|---|
Teachings/Guide/Philosophies of Ballad | Divining/Sealed/Forbidden Curse Scroll | Tusk of Monoceros Caeli |
In fact, you don't really need to level up his basic attack at all. Given there's a good chance you'll be using a three-star weapon with this guy, that should be all the reason you need to understand he's not here to simply slash at enemies. His damage comes more or less exclusively from his Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst.
