The best Albedo builds use his DEF stat scaling to increase his damage, relying secondly on building up his Geo DMG, CRIT DMG, and CRIT Rate to ensure his Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst deals the most amount of damage possible with each use.

Elemental Skill Sub DPS Build
For the most part, building Albedo around his Elemental Skill will be the better, more accessible approach for the average player. His Elemental Skill comes off cooldown almost as fast as you can switch out and back in.
As it does respectable damage when dropped on or slightly near enemies, it's a good way to increase the character's DPS as opposed to just letting its lingering on-hit effect be its only use.
Elemental Burst Sub DPS Build
By focusing on ways to boost Albedo's easily charged Elemental Burst, you can deal massive amounts of burst damage in a wide area, leaving a large DMG buff behind for other characters to then clean up with. This will obviously climb further after unlocking Albedo's second constellation (at which point it's the go-to build), but even before that, if you happen to have the right items to build him this way, it's not a bad approach.

Right now, this is one of the best team comps for Albedo at virtually any level. Having Fischl at Constellation six will make a big difference, but the core idea remains the same:
- Use Venti's Elemental Burst to pull a group of enemies together.
- Drop Albedo's Elemental Skill on top of them.
- Use Diluc's Elemental Burst to trigger the Geo AoE damage and infuse Venti's Anemo cyclone with Pyro for Swirl damage.
- Use Fischl to drop Oz on the pack and burst them down with her rapid Normal Attacks.
It's complicated, but each of these characters requires little Energy, and they all have high Energy Recharge thanks to their chaining reactions. It's one of the best team comps for Albedo right now, allowing for virtually non-stop Elemental Burst barrages.

As Albedo doesn't lean much on his Normal Attacks, the weapon he uses is based purely on the stats it provides. Base ATK comes as standard on his top picks, but it's the CRIT DMG, Energy Recharge, or DEF% bonus stat and effects you're looking to put to use with these.

In a rare case for any five-star character in Genshin Impact, Albedo puts the very common three-star weapon Harbinger of Dawn to better use than some gacha swords. Festering Desire from the limited-time Dragonspine event was another great option, given it was available for free at the same time as him.

Albedo makes a great case for the Geo Artifact sets that looked a little pointless before he was introduced. Thanks to just how frequently he can deal Geo damage through his Elemental Skill and rapidly recharging Elemental Burst, anything you can do to boost this stat will help.
As Albedo is commonly used as a sub-DPS unit, a full Archaic Petra set works well. It boosts his Geo damage for when he sets up his Elemental Skill, then allows other team members to gain a damage bonus as it lingers on the field.
Noblesse Oblige works in a similar manner, only boosting Albedo's powerful Elemental Burst especially, giving his teammates a healthy 20% damage boost in the process.

Albedo Artifact Stats
Before you go trying to grind these artifacts, it's best to know which stats to look out for. Leveling up an artifact with less-than-favourable stats is a waste of precious materials and Mora. For Albedo, it's a matter of building up his damage by stacking DEF whenever possible. Once you've found a Geo DMG goblet, just work on stacking DEF, CRIT Rate, and CRIT DMG through various sub stat rolls.

What are Albedo's Skills and Talents?
Albedo excels as a Geo Sub DPS unit. His Elemental Burst will trigger an Elemental Mastery buff for the entire party, so triggering Elemental Reactions will deliver great results thanks to it, which will be reflected with this setup. The Archaic Petra and Noblesse Oblige sets will be the best options, accompanied by the Skyward Blade.

If you're lucky enough to pull Albedo multiple times, you'll quickly unlock the true potential of his powerful Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst. His second Constellation is the true aim in this situation. With it, the damage of Albedo's Elemental Burst will scale rapidly, as enemies are struck within his ever-present Elemental Skill. As his cooldowns are virtually non-existent, it means a near-constant 120% damage boost to an already painful ability.

What are Albedo's Ascension Materials?
Ascending Alebdo boosts his HP, ATK, DEF, and Geo DMG. Those last two are incredibly important to Alebdo's damage potential. You'll notice him become vastly more powerful as you raise him through the ranks. And, thankfully, it isn't too hard to do so. Cecilia and Sealed Scrolls aren't commonly used and can be easily gathered. After that, it's just a matter of farming Geo Hypostasis for Basalt Pillars and Prithivia Topaz.

Another important part of building Albedo is remembering to level up his talents and abilities. The order in which you go about this will change slightly depending on the role you expect Albedo to play in your team, but here's the most common Albedo talent upgrade order:

In fact, you don't really need to level up his basic attack at all. Given there's a good chance you'll be using a three-star weapon with this guy, that should be all the reason you need to understand he's not here to simply slash at enemies. His damage comes more or less exclusively from his Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst.
