July 13, 2022: Shikanoin Heizou is now available in Klee and Kazuha's rerun banners.

Rumours are flying around as to what's coming in Genshin Impact's upcoming updates, but something has just been confirmed - a new character called Shikanoin Heizou.

He is the first male catalyst user, and is probably the last Inazuma character being introduced to the game. Heizou will release with his own Hangout Quest, and has likely suffered delays due to recent setbacks with the Genhsin Impact 2.7 update.

While we await more information, check out our guides for Yelan and Kuki, two more upcoming Genshin characters. There’s also our Version 2.8 page for all the facts and fiction surrounding the next release.

When Will Shikanoin Heizou Release?

Hoyoverse has confirmed the release date for 2.8 - the update that will bring Heizou into the game. The update will go live on July 13, so it's time to hoard those Primogems.

Who Is Shikanoin Heizou in Genshin Impact?

Heizou is hailed as an Inazuman detective, working for the Tenryou Comission. Said to have ‘admirable wit and insight’, Ayato herself has commended his abilities and that the Comission is lucky to have him on board.

This isn’t his first mention, though - Kamisato Ayaka drops his name in her voice-overs, as does his older cousin: Kano Nana. His name also crops up on the bulletin boards in Inazuma.

Heizou is an Anemo elemental user, and is armed with a Catalyst. His constellation has been revelead as Cervus Minor - a buck - which presumably signifies his spirit and wild side. He is likely to be a 4-Star character.

What Is The Best Weapon For Heizou?

Heizou is a Catalyst character, who will only be able to fight and deal damage with his Anemo elemental skill. This can have its drawbacks if any enemies are immune to Anemo, but it also means he's fun to use as he punches enemies with the power of the wind.

The best weapon for Heizou will likely be the Lost Prayers To The Sacred Winds which is a great choice for any damage-dealing Catalyst. Here are our recommendations:

Weapon Rarity Stats How To Obtain
Lost Prayer To The Sacred Winds5-StarCRIT Rate 7.2%Wish
Skyward Atlas5-StarATK 7.2%Wish
The Widsith4-StarCRIT DMG 12.0%Wish

What Is Heizou's Element in Genshin Impact?

Heizou is another Anemo-wielding character, alongside Xiao, Venti, and the unchanged Traveler.

What Are Shikanoin Heizou's Constellations in Genshin Impact?

Heizou's Constellations have been revealed, and they are as follows:

  • Named Juvenile Casebook
  • Investigative Colleciton
  • Esoteric Puzzle Book
  • Tome of Lies
  • Secret Archive
  • Curious Casefiles

Some of these Constellations buff Heizou's Heartstopper Strike and Windmuster Kick abilities, to add more power and elemental damage.

What Are the Best Artifacts for Heizou?

As an Anemo user, Heizou will be able to use the Viridescent Venerer artifact set, which adds significant buffs to any elemental damage. As he doesn't use physical weapons or deal any damage that isn't elemental, this set is ideal. Especially with the Sacrificial Fragments' high elemental damage.
