2021 hasn’t been the best time for people around the world, but VELO is putting a smile on people’s face through gaming, and specifically through racing!
The VELO ESERIES puts a group of celebrities through a racing bootcamp and masterclass, getting them ready to take on members of the public in live-streamed races.
With two series in the books and one left ahead of us, let’s take a look at the journey so far, and how YOU can be involved in the next race!
From bootcamp...
So far, VELO has pitted Craig David, Supercar Blondie, Archie Hamilton, and Fred Sirieix in races against members of the public on F1 2020, one of our absolute favourite racing titles.
VELO puts their celebs through a rigorous bootcamp to make sure they are up to the task. Featuring reflex challenges and giving them a taste of a real driver training at the McLaren Technology Centre, VELO makes sure their celebs are ready to compete.
You can check out the first bootcamp featuring Supercar Blondie and Craig David right here.
You can check out VELO putting Series 3 competitors Becky Evans, Elz The Witch and a mystery guest through their bootcamp on 13 March.
… To masterclass
With three races in each series there is plenty of action on the track for viewers to enjoy, and challenges for the celebs to overcome.
That’s why once they graduate bootcamp they get given a masterclass in controlling the car within the game itself.
You can check out the second masterclass featuring Archie Hamilton and Fred Sirieix right here.
There’s no doubt that it is tricky to get up to speed in F1 2020, which is why McLaren’s team of esports experts is on hand to teach the celebs everything they need to compete.
You can check out VELO putting Series 3 competitors Becky Evans, Elz The Witch, and a mystery guest through their Masterclass on 20 March.
How to be involved in Series 3
The next installment of the VELO ESERIES will see Becky Evans, Elz The Witch and the mystery guest take to the track on 3rd April, and you can be involved!
