God Of War PS5 Optimisation Update
Santa Monica Studio has unveiled the release date for a patch that will optimise performance of the 2018 release on PlayStation 5 consoles.
Prior to the studio unveiling the update, the best graphics options for the game let players select one of two modes. One focuses on the performance of the game while the other improves the resolution.
The optimisation patch will replace the current video graphics mode option with a new setting that capitalises on the immense power of the PS5.
Once players have downloaded the free update, God of War will sync to 60 frames per second and run in 4K Checkerboard resolution.
Players were able to run the game at 4K Checkerboard/60 FPS before the update was revealed. The method involved using an unpatched disc version of the game but with this free update, there’s no need to attempt the elaborate workaround.
God Of War PS5 Update Release Date
In a surprise announcement, Santa Monica Studio revealed that the update would be arriving to all PS5 players on February 2nd.
The update could mark the beginning of a new wave of updates as players experience the story on the next generation of PlayStation consoles.
