Godfall, Gearbox and Counterplay Games melee-focused looter, was shown in greater depth at last night's State of Play event.
We got a lengthy look at combat, with a focus on weapon types, combat mechanics, and signature moves. Here's everything we learned.
Godfall Combat Shown In-Depth
You can check out the video below:
There are five types of weapon found within the game, as well as a shield.
Dual blades offer rapid attacks with a heavy finisher to cap off a combo, while the longsword offers increased range strike.
Longswords are also able to damage several enemies with a "Spectral Flurry" that sees your character "teleport" forward while slashing while "Spiral Technique" tears through enemies in a straight line.
There are also the two-handed weapons including Polearms, Warhammers, and Greatswords, each with slower attacks that hit harder, but we didn't get a look at the full moveset for those.
The shield is a "core part of Godfall", and can supplement the Longsword's attacks with a Shield Uppercut when timed properly.
So far, responses have been tepid to the combat demonstration, but I'm looking forward to getting my hands on it in any case - predominantly because I love loot-driven progression systems.
The showcase also revealed that each area in Godfall will be themed after a different element, with enemies to match.
