When you think about GTA Online, wholesome might not be the first word that comes to mind.
After all, between the battles pitting the griefers against the griefed and the occasional random war between costumed crusaders, Los Santos is home to a lot of death and destruction.
However, some players on Reddit have finally decided to use the game for good, staging a party for their lonely friend on Vespucci Beach.
GTA Players Host Birthday Bash on the Beach
This is the topic of a recent thread in the GTA Online subreddit, which began with user seggy_ sharing a clip of the party, which saw fireworks illuminate the night sky and a few players accidentally end up on fire, captioning it: “my friend lives in another country and didn’t have plans for his birthday, so we celebrated it in GTA Online! Happy birthday Mick.”
A number of users were quick to also wish Mick a happy birthday, with shift_games saying: “happy birthday random Reddit person’s friend, I hope you have/had a good one.”
Other players praised Mick’s friends for organising the festivities, with Contender 811 saying: this is easily one of the most wholesome things I’ve seen on this subreddit. Your guy’s lucky to have you all” and wouldbees adding: “this is the best thing I’ve ever seen on GTA 5.”
Meanwhile, user -Mr_Rogers_II speculated: “must’ve been a private lobby. That would've been an orbital cannon user’s wet dream”, while DS_V47 added: “imagine seeing a random kid on a mk2 pull up.”
Thankfully, there were seemingly no fireworks of that nature to disrupt the wholesome celebrations, though some users did post firework gifs in the Reddit thread.
Some others expressed a desire to find the kind of friends who’ll throw you a virtual birthday party to play the game with themselves, so let’s hope they can find some suitable candidates soon.
In the meantime, they should make sure to follow us for more GTA Online updates as new content, possibly starring Michael from single-player, is released.
