It’s a good day to be a GTA 6 fan: Rockstar just dropped the second trailer for its highly anticipated game. The trailer, which is roughly two minutes and 46 seconds long, doesn’t show any gameplay, but it does highlight the game’s impressive in-engine graphics.

Here are 5 things we noticed in Grand Theft Auto 6’s second trailer:

It Was Captured on the PlayStation 5

Yep, the trailer showcases how stunning everything looks, and all the cinematics were captured in-engine using the PlayStation 5. The visuals feel like the real deal, worlds apart from the leaked footage we saw a few years back. It’s a testament to how far Rockstar has pushed its proprietary RAGE Engine, turning it into a graphical powerhouse that’s been driving open-world innovation since Grand Theft Auto IV.

As a little nod to PlayStation, the trailer even showcased a pair of PlayStation 5 controllers.

New Locations

Grand Theft Auto 6 takes place in the fictional city of Vice City. It features a sprawling open world teeming with multiple locations. While we still don’t know the full scope of the map, the trailer teased several diverse biomes: the swampy marshlands of the Grassrivers, the crime-ridden Port Gellhorn, the lush but rugged Mount Kalaga National Park, and the vibrant streets of Leonida Keys.

There’s even more to explore, and Rockstar has shared additional screenshots of these areas on the game’s official website.

New Characters

Beyond Jason Duval and Lucia Camino, the trailer introduces a host of new faces, and Rockstar has even shared their names and what they do. It looks like each region will feature major characters that Jason and Lucia team up with in their criminal exploits.

There’s Cal Hampton, Jason’s beer-loving friend who seems to be the comic relief. Boobie Ike, a Vice City legend with a sprawling empire in real estate, strip clubs, and music. And Real Dimez, a flashy influencer making bank off her content. These are just a few of the colorful characters we’ve seen, and Rockstar’s website offers deeper insights into each one.

An Intriguing Relationship Between Jason and Lucia

The trailer places a clear spotlight on the relationship between Lucia and Jason, something we covered in another piece, inspired by classic Bonnie and Clyde dynamics. The two seem drawn to a life of crime, though we still don’t fully know what led them down this path.

According to Rockstar’s site, Jason Duval is a charming con man, while Lucia Camino is a battle-hardened fighter. Together, they thrive in chaos, doing what they do best: committing crime.

The trailer even features “Hot Together” by The Pointer Sisters, a fitting anthem for the fiery bond they share.

Even More Crime

Grand Theft Auto has always been synonymous with crime, and GTA VI looks ready to raise the bar. Bank robberies are back, of course, alongside the classic car thefts the series is known for. But there’s more, like what appears to be a social media system, thanks to Real Dimez. Players might get the chance to record songs or even create short-form videos in a TikTok-style mechanic using the in-game phone.

Leonida is shaping up to be a playground for chaos, and Lucia and Jason seem like the perfect pair to take full advantage, if they want to make it out alive.
