A horror game is only as good as its weapons, and the unique enemies of Alan Wake 2 are going to regret everything they've ever done thanks to the game's expansive arsenal. In this guide, we'll reveal all weapons in Alan Wake 2.
Every one you find unlocks a new trophy, with an additional trophy rewarded for finding all of them. Some weapons are exclusive to Alan while fellow protagonist Saga gets a few all to herself. You'll swap characters at several points throughout the story, so making sure both are locked and loaded is important.
We'll reveal the weapons in just a moment, but while you're here, check out the Alan Wake 2 mission list and find out if the game is on game pass. We can also explain what those yellow arrows are all about, too.
All weapons in Alan Wake 2
There are eight weapons in Alan Wake 2, each more deadly than the last. You'll stumble across many of them through regular story progression, with some slightly more tucked away than others. Explore each area thoroughly, and you'll have a full arsenal in no time.
Saga Anderson's weapons
Saga starts with a pistol courtesy of the FBI, so you won't need to 'find' it so much as 'use it to stay alive'.
When you reach Cauldron Lake, a convenience store holds the powerful sawed-off shotgun. Grabbing it will unlock the 'Bring It' trophy.
You'll eventually find a hunting shack to act as a break room. You'll need to do some sleuthing to find the code to a case, but it's worth it - inside is the crossbow. Adding it to your arsenal unlocks the 'Greatest Hits' trophy.
Saga's later treated to some more heavy firepower with the pump-action shotgun. You'll get the 'Stop Right There' trophy when you retrieve it from a sheriff's office, but getting inside the case it's in is its own puzzle.
Fans of the Sniper Elite series will be pleased to learn of the hunting rifle's existence. You'll find this one in a security room inside the wellness centre, and get the 'Ready for a Fight' trophy for picking it up.
Alan Wake's weapons
You won't be able to continue the story as Alan without picking up a revolver, and it comes with a handy flashlight, too! Picking it up will get you the 'Find the Light' trophy.
One of the best weapons from the first Alan Wake game makes its triumphant return in the sequel. The flare gun is impossible to miss and will unlock the 'Lights Shining' trophy. Use it wisely - the flare gun is pretty damn powerful.
For the appropriately titled 'Yippee Ki-yay' trophy, you should look out for a double-barrelled shotgun. This one's part of your natural progression through the story, so don't worry about missing it.
That's a bit of information on every weapon you can find in Alan Wake 2. You should also check out the game's system requirements and find out how to heal. We can also tell you if the game has New Game Plus.
