Is Alan Wake 2 co-op?
Unfortunately, Alan Wake 2 is single-player only.
You'd be forgiven for thinking otherwise; there are two protagonists to control, with Alan joined by FBI agent Saga Anderson. The characters are used to tell two sides of a story, so having them run around together while you giggle in voice chat with a friend wouldn't quite capture the same effect.
A lack of co-op doesn't mean there's a lack of content in the game, of course. If you pre-ordered the game or buy the deluxe edition you'll have exclusive cosmetics like the celebrity suit and 'oh deer' diner sweater to lighten the mood.
The game's developers have also confirmed that Alan Wake 2 can be played and understood without having played the first game or Control's Alan Wake-themed DLC.
