Retrieve the Wounded

In Newcastle's Passive ability, he can move teammates around while reviving them, getting them to cover during the revival process. The Revive Shield of Newcastle is powered by half the level of the Knockdown Shield he has. Here's a rundown of the health levels of Newcastle's Revive Shield:

  • Level 1: 200
  • Level 2: 300
  • Level 3 or 4: 500

Do take note that pressing "use" once will start the reviving process and toggling it again will cancel it. So be careful with the "use" button so you can fully revive your teammates.

Mobile Shield

For Newcastle's Tactical ability, he can throw a drone that projects a moveable energy shield. this shield has an upper and lower half, each having 500HP and can be destroyed separately. Upon hitting an enemy, this shield can deal 20 damage. Keep in mind the following tips and information when using the Mobile Shield:

  • This ability has a 15-second cooldown that lasts for 20 seconds or until it's destroyed.
  • There's a maximum throwing distance for the shield which is 5m

Castle Wall

When used properly, Newcastle's Castle Wall Ultimate becomes a defensive trump card for your team. Newcastle will leap to a target area and create a shield-like defence. This ability has 9 panels that contain 750HP each. Remember these tips when deploying this Ultimate:

  • The castle wall becomes electrified, causes slow effects, and deals 20 damage to any player who approaches it.
  • You can turn around mid-leap to orient the wall differently.
  • Each panel of the wall can be destroyed with two melee attacks.

Bring your teammates to safety

When playing as Newcastle, you'll find yourself in the role of team reviver. Besides simply reviving your teammates, you should be able to cover for them and bring them to safer positions. This requires you to think on your feet and find cover for yourself and your team whenever this happens.

You'll only be able to revive your teammates to low health and it becomes pointless to revive them only to have them be knocked down again just because you brought them to an open area. Be sure to have good timing when doing revivals so your effort isn't wasted.

Play to support your team

As most players are used to attacking aggressively in Apex Legends itself, it helps if you support the team when you're in a Supporter role such as Newcastle. This means you shouldn't take the lead when approaching battle areas as this can put you at risk of being immediately downed by enemies.

Newcastle's abilities are tailored for rescuing teammates when needed. So, if you're killed before your teammates, it garners a huge loss already.

Keep your shield with you

When playing as Newcastle, you can move the mobile shield as much as you want. You can aim at a specific location and press the tactical button to move your mobile shield to that location. This becomes extremely useful for high-intensity combat.

Disrupt enemy movements

The last tip in using Newcastle is to disrupt your enemy's movements. As you're in a Supporter role, you can use your abilities to stop enemies from pushing or being aggressive against your team. With the Mobile Shield and Castle Wall, you can take back control from certain areas on the map and force your opponents to retreat.

Additionally, you can become a decent flanker. In times when emergency escape is needed, you've got your teammates covered and you can disrupt your enemies' movements with your abilities and give time for your team to launch a counter-attack.
