Curious about the Assassin's Creed Mirage map size? Assassin’s Creed Mirage is one of the most anticipated games of 2023 but we did not know much about the game until recently. At the Ubisoft Forward event, we got a closer look at the game’s story and combat, and found out more about what the new game world will look like.
The game is set in Baghdad, and knowing how Ubisoft creates its game worlds in the Assassin’s Creed universe as historically accurate as possible, we expect traversing the city to be a blast for fans. At a pre-briefing session before the Ubisoft Forward event, we found out exactly how big is Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s map. We're excited to share the information with you!
How big is the Assassin’s Creed Mirage map?
During the pre-briefing event at the recent Ubisoft Forward, it was revealed that Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s map is about the same size as Paris. The game will be set in 9th Century Baghdad, with the time period beginning in the year 861 AD, which coincides with the Golden Age.
The events of Mirage take place decades before Valhalla. According to Artistic director Jean-Luc Sala’s comments during Ubisoft Direct, Baghdad served as the centre of the world with it being "a key place for knowledge, art, innovation, science, commerce, and power."
The city was completely destroyed around 500 years later, but fans will experience Baghdad at its cultural peak. While Baghdad will be smaller than the worlds we got to experience in Valhalla, Odyssey, and Origins, it will still be a massive map with plenty of secrets to discover. The map size should be closer to what we experienced in Assassin’s Creed Unity.
The four areas we will get to experience include the Karkh industrial district, the beautiful Round City, and two other areas we have not seen yet. We will also be able to leave the city and experience the Alamut, which is the home to all assassins.
The map is designed to offer a more stealth-focused gameplay experience with plenty of ledges and high ground for players to take advantage of. You will also be able to use your pet bird to scout areas and engage in combat when the time is right. We are a few months away from experiencing the journey of Basim Ibn Is'haq, and fans cannot wait to experience Baghdad’s beauty.
