Despite multiple delays and plenty of controversies, Assassin's Creed Shadows is here. The latest entry in Ubisoft's long-standing franchise features two playable characters this time around, including a young shinobi called Naoe.
Little is known about the mysterious ninja for players looking to dive deep into the feudal Japan created by Ubisoft. As Naoe (or Yasuke), you'll be able to explore cities such as Kyoto and Osaka, as well as expansive surrounding areas.
Amid all the mysteries surrounding the game, there's one specific on player's minds: How old is Naoe? Be warned, slight spoilers ahead.
How Old Is Naoe in AC Shadows?
Naoe, the fictional character featured in Assassin's Creed Shadows, starts the game as a 17-year-old shinobi. Her age was confirmed by Ubisoft in a blog post.
As the game spawns multiple years, players will get to see Naoe's growth as a shinobi and as a person. The beginning of AC Shadows is set in 1579, with the rest of the story taking place through several years, ending in 1584.
Towards the end, Naoe is a more experienced 22-year-old shinobi, having developed her craft through multiple years of continuous training.
Naoe might be a fictional character that is original to AC Shadows, but she still has an interesting backstory for those who enjoy Japanese history. She's the daughter of real-life shinobi warrior Fujibayashi Nagato.
Despite initially rejecting the idea, Nagato is forced to teach Naoe the ways of the shinobi as a means to defend herself during a tumultuous period in the region of Iga.
So, if you were wondering why Naoe looked particularly young, you were right on the money.
