The above means that characters with the Acolyte background are familiar with religious rites and various deities. They tend to react to instances where faith and rituals are being discussed.
With this in mind, we've listed several examples of Baldur's Gate 3 Acolyte inspirations that we've seen during our playthrough. Make sure you have an Acolyte character with you when these incidents happen so you gain the related inspiration.
List of Acolyte inspirations
Divinity Undone - You'll find the Dank Crypt in the ruins north of the beach. One of the rooms has a sarcophagus containing the Book of the Dead Gods. Read it to gain an inspiration.
Her Gift of Silver - Enter the Owlbear Cave west of Druid Grove. You'll see a locked chest. Have a character read the nearby Prayer to Selune note to open it.
Shatter the Moon - Solve the moon puzzle in the Shattered Sanctum.
Last Rites of the Dark Dancer - In the Underdark, look for the Phalar Aluve sword. Pass the Strength or Religion checks to acquire it.
Tipping the Scales - Look for a cliffside portion to reach the Festering Cove area. There, pass the dialogue checks to convince the Kuo-Toa (i.e., Murlocs) to worship you.
Moonweaver's Prayer - Upon arriving at Last Light Inn during Act 2, head to the second-floor balcony to witness Isobel's barrier ritual.
No Rest for the Wicked - In the northern portion of the Shadow-Cursed Lands, you'll meet a necromancer named He Who Was. Find the ledger of the dead woman, bring it back to him, and make her spirit feel guilty for her crimes.
