Clearly, that's only one of the many things you can do with your companions in the game, as you might also be interested in the best Monk build and what to do after beating it.
Among many of the unique companions in Baldur's Gate 3, Astarion is another clear favorite for many. So let's find out what the best build for the Elf might be.
What is the best build for Astarion?
Overall, we would recommend to build up Astarion as a Rogue and choose the Thief subclass as well. This is because that Sneak Damage ability of his, can definitely turn the tables in a fight.
This is how it would be best to transform his initial stats to make him into the perfect Rogue/Thief:
- Strength - 9
- Dexterity - 15
- Constitution - 15
- Intelligence - 8
- Wisdom - 15
- Charisma - 13
With a high Constitution, you can be sure that Astarion will not go down easily as that ability will govern over his health points. With Dexterity, you can quickly build up his Rogue and Thief skills as well.
Best skills and feats for Astarion
Overall, it shouldn't be too difficult to build up Astarion in the right way, as the Rogue and Thief subclass should be straightforward.
Rogues get feats every four levels, so we recommend to grab Dual Wielder, as soon as possible, as that will also give you a +1 to Armor class. Later, you can just focus on growing your Dexterity stat.
These are the skills you might want to improve first:
- Deception - allows you to manipulate others.
- Insight - it gives you a clear view of each situation, seeing through people's deception.
- Perception - detect the details of the environment around you.
- Persuasion - convince others to do your bidding and also secure favors.
- Sleight of Hand - makes you better at picking pockets or untying ropes or knots.
- Stealth - how good you are at sneaking around.
