Can you be a Dragonborn in Baldur's Gate 3?
The long and short of it is that yes, the Dragonborn is a race that players can choose when Baldur's Gate 3 launches. The Dragonborn are a proud race that values clan and skills above all else. They have a multitude of subraces, which alters one of your racial abilities, Breath Weapon.
What kinds of Dragonborn are in Baldur's Gate 3?
As we mentioned, there are a few different subraces for the Dragonborn. If you've played tabletop Dungeons and Dragons before, then you may be familiar with these. Of note, since the Dragonborn isn't available in the early access version of the game yet, some of this information was data mined, so some of this may change. Here are the different Dragonborn subraces:
- Black Dragonborn
- Blue Dragonborn
- Bronze Dragonborn
- Copper Dragonborn
- Gold Dragonborn
- Green Dragonborn
- Red Dragonborn
- Silver Dragonborn
- White Dragonborn
Depending on which subrace you choose to play will affect your character's appearance and the effect of your breath weapon.
What skills does a Dragonborn have in Baldur's Gate 3?
As with most other D&D games, the skills and spells that your character can have will be based on the class. That being said, the Dragonborn has a Breath Weapon as an active spell it can cast, and it also has Draconic Ancestry, which allows you to pick your subrace.

One thing to note about the Dragonborn is that normally in tabletop, the Dragonborn gets +2 Strength and +1 Charisma for being a race. This will be changed at the launch of the game as these points are now associated with the class that you pick rather than the race.
