It's time to learn how to navigate the challenge of overcoming the noxious fumes in Baldur’s Gate 3. Throughout your journey, you'll encounter various traps. One of these is the noxious fumes trap that plays a significant role during the boss fight against Auntie Ethel.
While it might initially appear as a simple barrier causing minimal damage, underestimating it could lead to dire consequences. These fumes are prevalent throughout the entire Overgrown Tunnel area. Beyond just inflicting substantial damage, passing through these fumes will also leave you weakened for the upcoming battles. Given these potential hazards, it's crucial to find a way to bypass the fumes without suffering harm. Interestingly, the solution to overcoming the noxious fumes lies within the fumes themselves.

How to get past noxious fumes in Baldur’s Gate 3
To halt the release of the noxious fumes in Baldur's Gate 3, your task is to pinpoint the source from which they emanate. This source takes the form of a hidden vent obscured within the billowing cloud of fumes. However, this vent won't be readily visible from afar; you'll need to approach it closely while maintaining a suitable distance.
Yet, the vent isn't the sole danger to watch out for. Within the cloud, another threat exists in the form of the Peculiar Flower. When coming into contact with them, these flowers trigger an explosion that dispenses an even more perilous and highly flammable gas.
Once you reach the appropriate spot, a successful perception check by your party will reveal the vent as well as Peculiar Flowers within the smoke. At this point, you have the option to use a spare item from your inventory to target both the vent and the flowers. While it's possible to block the vent initially, it is recommended to eliminate the threat posed by the flowers before proceeding.
How to defeat the Peculiar Flower in Baldur's Gate 3
Maintain a safe distance from the flower to avoid explosion damage. Throw that spare item on the flower and it will explode and release the gases. Wait for the gases to clear away. While the flowers will disappear, the fumes may return. Don't be alarmed, as this resurgence stems from the vent, your next objective.
Repeat the steps by throwing items you don't need from your inventory onto the vent. This time, you don't need to worry about the explosion, because the gases will disappear completely. Do the same thing for the other areas with noxious fumes that you find later.
Remember an important thing: don't use items that can break easily when you throw them. By following this careful approach, you can get rid of the noxious fumes without getting hurt.
