In the guide below, we will walk you through all the ways to get to Moonrise Towers in Baldur's Gate 3. Throughout the beginning and middle stages of Baldur's Gate 3, it seems like all roads lead to Moonrise Towers. This is where everyone you meet says you will get answers about the mind-flayer tadpole currently burrowing its way into your brain. This is also the headquarters of the Absolute, the cult responsible for infecting people across Faerun with the altered mind flayer parasites. So throughout Act 1, and even the beginning stages of Act 2, it's all about reaching Moonrise Towers.
But while some of you will go in a different direction than the towers, most players will have to make it there at some point if they want to advance the story. Of course, this is easier said than done, as Moonrise Towers isn't a location on your map. Instead, you will have to endure hours of hardship, dialogue, and exploration through the formidable Shadow Cursed Lands before you can stumble upon the home base of the Absolute.

How to get to Moonrise Towers in Baldur's Gate 3
Firstly, you must progress into Act 2 by taking the Underdark or the Mountain Pass to reach Moonrise Towers. However, neither of these locations will immediately grant you access to the towers, as they both eventually land you in the same place. The spooky Shadow Cursed Lands.
After slogging through either the Underdark or the Mountain Pass, you will be able to advance to the Shadow Cursed Lands. If you take the Underdark, you must go through the Grymforge and take an elevator, while players who took the Mountain Pass only have to travel down a few roads.
Once you're in the Shadow Cursed Lands, you are searching for the Last Light Inn. This acts as a checkpoint for you before reaching Moonrise Towers. It's also here where you can meet Jaheira, Isobel, Dammon, and other characters who play various roles in other quests. You will be especially welcome at the Last Light Inn if you save Emerald Grove from the goblin camp, as it's full of Druids and the Tiefling survivor from the grove.
In any case, you will need to eventually move on from the Last Light Inn. We recommend first speaking to Jaheira and Isobel if possible, though. This is because Isobel grants you a protection spell that means you do not need a torch when travelling through the Shadow Cursed Lands.
Reaching the towers
When you move on from the Last Light Inn, you are looking for a location called Reithwin Town. This town is the final checkpoint before reaching Moonrise Towers. From the Reithwin Town waypoint, you need to head southwest, past the Tollhouse and right near The Waning Moon. Here, you will find the waypoint for Moonrise Towers.
The easiest way of gaining access to the towers is to simply walk across the bridge and meet whatever fate awaits you. However, if you want to be sneaky, an alternate route takes you around the bridge and through the side of the towers.
This route is found southeast of the Moonrise Towers waypoint and requires you to access it by going into the Tollhouse and then back out of it on the south side. So you need to jump down onto the rocks near the water, hop over the gap, and then you will be able to explore Moonrise Towers from a completely different angle than if you went over the bridge.
But there you have it! That's how you get to Moonrise Towers in Baldur's Gate 3. However, don't worry, we won't spoil what happens inside the towers.
