How to find Harper Stash in Baldur's Gate 3
First things first, we have to obtain the Harper map before proceeding to Grymforge. The concealed nature of the Harper Stash's location makes the map indispensable; it automatically displays the stash's position on your minimap, saving you time.
To acquire the Harper map, make your way to the Ravaged Beach. There, on the western side of the area where you encountered Astarion, you'll come across a Scuffed rock. You will find an Ornate Chest containing the coveted Harper map beside it.
So now you can move forward towards Grymforge. But to do this, you'll need to locate a boat southwest of the Myconid Colony in the Underdark. While sailing, you'll encounter a boat manned by Duerger forces. At this point, you'll face a choice: You can either diplomatically convince them to allow passage or engage in combat to overcome them.
Upon reaching Grymforge, get off the boat and enter the cave. Head upstairs to the right. After moving for a while, you'll encounter three mimics. These clever creatures disguise themselves as treasure chests in an attempt to deceive you. Just slay all of these monsters without thinking twice.
Now, you must retrieve the Toy Chest item nearby after defeating the mimics. Upon interacting with it, the Harper Stash will be revealed before you. Now, our next challenge is to open it while avoiding the traps.
How to open the stash
To disable the trap on the Harper Stash, you can achieve this by employing the Light cantrip or casting the Daylight spell directly onto the chest. Failing to deactivate the trap could result in significant harm to your party members. Additionally, it's essential to have at least one lockpick tool in your possession.
It's important to keep in mind, however, that you'll need to roll a 20 to successfully unlock the stash. Furthermore, there exists a possibility that the stash may remain unlocked permanently, introducing a potential risk. Therefore, it is recommended to manually save the game as a precautionary measure.
The stash's contents can vary in each playthrough, though currently, it's known to include a quantity of gold, a Scroll of Evidence, a bottle of grease, and an Arrow of Ice. It's important to be aware that a glitch might result in the map marker for the Harper stash persisting even after you've collected all of its items.
