How to rescue Halsin without fighting
Unfortunately, there is no completely pacifist way to recruit the Emerald Grove's druid. With Halsin stuck in the Goblin Camp, he won't join you back at the grove until you've successfully taken out the three camp leaders, the goblin Priestess Gut, the hobgoblin Dror Ragzlin, and the drow Minthara.
When you first find Halsin in the Goblin Camp, he will be inside a cage in the Worg Pens. Unfortunately, this means you won’t be able to rescue him without any sort of combat since setting the druid free will anger the goblins inside the pens.
However, there is a way to prevent the entire goblin camp from closing in on you all at the same time. While attempting to free Halsin from his cage, you will need to stop the two goblin children nearby from escaping the Worg Pens and alerting the rest of the camp.
And by stopping these children, we mean sending them to the great goblin camp in the sky. But if forcing goblin kids to unsubscribe from life sounds too horrifying of an act to commit, you can always toggle non-lethal damage to keep your conscience clear.
Whether death and destruction or a simple TKO is your style, once the goblin children have been dealt with, you can escape the camp by fighting through small pockets of goblins as you go - just don't forget to use your short rests after each fight. You can also try to flee the camp by going into the Underdark through the Selune Temple passage behind Priestess Gut’s room. There’s no escaping the guilt of what you did to those kids, though.
